- Jehoshaphat was afraid when he heard that a multitude was arrayed against him, but he did the best thing possible, he sought the Lord for help. He didn't depend on himself. We all get afraid when faced with insurmountable odds. Don't positive think your way out of it--go to God for help!
- I love what he said to God: "For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You." May our eyes be upon Him ... it's OK to acknowledge your limitations.
- The Spirit of The Lord then came upon Jahaziel with a word from the Lord in response to Jehoshaphat's prayer. The last words in that prayer were that his eyes were on the Lord. I felt led to check what Jahaziel's name meant, and it's 'Beheld of the Lord'! So God's eyes were upon His people as well--He knew what they were going through. He sees us in our troubles today and cares for us.
- They were told that the battle wasn't theirs but the Lord's. They were to position themselves, to stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord. The Hebrew word for salvation there is Yeshua. Let's cease from our own efforts to rescue ourselves. Let's rest and see Jesus in our situation.
- Jehoshaphat then placed the singers at the head of his army and they sang 'Praise the Lord for His mercy endures forever'. The Hebrew for mercy there is 'hesed'! That's the same word translated as 'grace' in the Hebrew language New Testament. God's grace is always there for the weak and dependent.
- After they picked up the spoils, they gathered in the Valley of Berachah--which means prosperity. Notice it's a valley. Even in the low points of your life, God can prosper you, when you look to him and rest in him to fight your battles.

Our Eyes Are On You
Been drawn to 2 Chronicles 20:1-30. Really the best way to position ourselves for success is not to be strong in ourselves...but dependent on Him. That's when we find rest in our hearts and He moves on our behalf. The battle isn't ours, it's the Lord's … and He wins every battle! Here are some wonderful nuggets from that passage of scripture:
